Job description
An excellent opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to join a reputable, national company at their HQ , South of Bury St. Edmunds. This role will provide technical support for end user devices across both office and mobile locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues on a variety of devices, including laptops, tablets, phones, and desktops. Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be expected onsite full-time (Monday-Friday).
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive technical support to end users for all issues related to their devices, including laptops, tablets, phones, and desktops.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems.
- Install, configure, and maintain end user devices.
- Set up new devices for employees, including the installation of required software, network connectivity, and user accounts.
- Conduct regular maintenance and performance checks on end user devices to identify potential issues and proactively resolve them.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues that require further expertise or involvement.
- Assist in the management of mobile devices, including the setup and configuration of mobile operating systems, email accounts, and security policies.
- Provide user training and support for software applications and tools commonly used by the organisation.
- Take part in an out of hours rota to support customers who work outside of office hours
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an IT Support Engineer or in a similar role, supporting end user devices in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and mobile operating systems (iOS, Android).
- Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting and repairs for laptops, tablets, phones, and desktops.
- Proficient in diagnosing and resolving software issues, including troubleshooting applications, network connectivity, and system performance.
- Experience with device management and mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users effectively.

Salary: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
