Job description

We are looking for an IT Support Engineer to join our IT Department.

The IT department comprises of 18 people and supports a wide variety of user cases across the National Theatre by providing robust and secure systems that helps the departments within the National Theatre to reach their potential. These include a variety of On-Premise, Cloud and as-a-service based systems including computing infrastructure (VMWare, AWS and Azure), business applications, internally developed systems, networking and communication technologies.

As a member of the IT Helpdesk team, you will be responsible for supporting the vast range of technologies deployed across our multiple London based sites, whilst projecting a positive and welcoming attitude to our colleagues in need of support.

A day at work generally includes proactive management and triage of tickets raised through our Helpdesk platform, FreshService. It could also include the initial troubleshooting of our computer systems and where necessary taking ownership over the escalation process to a 3rd party vendor or the Infrastructure team.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Demonstrable people skills with a sound understanding of customer service in a support function.
  • Demonstrable experience in the installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of desktop hardware and software (Windows 10 & Mac OS).
  • Previous experience of supporting and working collaboratively within a team.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills and evidence of applying these in practice.
  • Previous experience of working in a complex organisation and supporting a variety of different endusers.
