The post offers an exciting opportunity for someone to play a general administrative role in a highly successful and dynamic research and teaching Institute, as well as benefiting from the opportunities afforded by being part of the larger community of the Faculty of Brain Sciences, School of Life and Medical Sciences and University College London (UCL).
UCL Institute of Ophthalmology conducts cutting-edge research, attracting principal investigators, post-doctoral fellows and MD/PhD students of the highest international calibre to a stimulating research environment. The Institute is committed to a multi-disciplinary research portfolio that furthers an understanding of the eye and visual system linked with clinical investigations targeted to specific problems in the prevention and treatment of eye disease.
About the role
The post is 100% working on site. On occasion you may be asked to stay out of hours to help with events.
The Administrative Assistant is an institute operations staff providing a general efficient and effective day-to-day on-site administrative service including supporting the principal investigators with room booking and catering arrangements and providing general administrative support at the Institute.

About you
A successful candidate will have a working knowledge of effective administrative systems (e.g., filing, arranging meetings, room bookings and catering, responding to general queries effectively, and printing/scanning).
Experience of working with minimum supervision is desirable.
