Job Purpose
- Support the IT Manager
- Operate the IT helpdesk and provide first and second line support
- Provide full life-cycle support to office infrastructure and equipment both on hardware and software
- Contribute to ensuring that the highest standard of service is delivered to clients through the provision of an effective IT system and user support
Job Description
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of IT helpdesk under direction of IT Manager, troubleshooting issues with: desktop software (Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Affinity, Adobe and other line of business applications in use), hardware, printers, peripherals, presentation equipment, network cabling, mobile devices and user support issues.
- Assist in maintaining Software Asset Management and license compliance
- Assist the IT Manager in administering hardware maintenance and upgrade programme (PCs, laptops, scanners, printers, cameras etc.)
- Set up, install and maintain new PCs with office standard build
- Assist in the maintenance, calibration, and colour management of printing systems
- Assist setting up presentation equipment when required.
- Involvement in IT automation and software development projects
- Performing admin tasks such as user account creation, hardware and software asset management (stock-keeping, labelling )
- When required liaise with / escalate to external support
- Promote and help enforcing company information security policies and best practices
- Assist the IT Manager in maintaining data backup systems as defined by office Quality Management system.
- Requirement to work in confined spaces (under desks etc.) to connect cables and test connections
- Requirement to regularly move delicate and heavy equipment (computers and servers)
- Requirement to work periodically outside normal working hours to minimise disruption caused by IT systems maintenance down time
- Provide holiday and absence cover for IT Manager as required
- Adhere to and promote the Company's environmental policies and procedures
- Encourage and support the highest standards of professionalism and quality of service to clients
- Comply with standard office procedures as laid down in the Intranet
- Record all activities, contribute and maintain System Design and Configuration documentation
Skills and Profile
- A genuine interest in computing / programming - ideally backed by relevant education, personal or work projects
- Hands-on experience of the following: hardware and peripherals including PCs, laptops and printers, AV kits, Tablets, mobile devices
- Solid foundation in information technology and networking principles, and technical strength in networking, programming, or system administration
- Experience in the following: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, AutoCAD, Revit, Affinity, Adobe Creative Suite and further applications that may be required by the practice
- Willingness + ability to learn more specialized / Line of Business software to provide pre-configuration / deployment / user support / troubleshooting
- Great interpersonal skills and friendly and approachable manner.
- Methodical approach to problem solving
- Attention to detail, such as spotting the missing semi-colon in the command line
- Excellent organisational skills, ability to work under pressure, flexibility and prioritise workload
- Technical strength in programming / scripting for the Windows platform (PowerShell) is a bonus

Salary: £28,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
