Job Summary
Avantor is looking for a customer-centric and detail-oriented IT Support Engineer to join our Help Desk / Site Support team in Lutterworth! Your primary focus will be to provide front line IT support to our internal customers, ensuring the IT needs of our local facility are met.

The team
Avantor’s Help Desk / Site Support team is part of our Information Technology business unit. You will have the opportunity to become part of an international team made from 7 dedicated colleagues located in North-West Europe. Together, with them you will support the organisation's internal users by delivering diagnostic support to ensure that all products and services function properly.
What we’re looking for
  • Education: You have a professional qualification in an IT related field or combination of education and technical training
  • Experience: Demonstrated previous working knowledge and hands-on support of Microsoft (MS) Windows 10 and MS Windows 11 in an Active Directory environment is required.
  • Certification: Microsoft certification is desirable
    Qualifications:
  • Good knowledge/experience with supporting office products and suites (O365) and/or mobile technology (both OS and hardware) is necessary
  • Previous experience of with an ITSM tool “Service Now” or RMM tool “Datto’’ or similar is desired
  • Prior experience with building/maintaining/repairing user workstations/laptops; resolving user printer problems is ideal
  • Broad knowledge of IT and communications services/ technologies, Active Directory and Domain management, Network Technologies: LAN/WLAN/WAN is needed
  • Strong 2nd line support, technical and analytical skills, administration, implementation, and configuration skills
  • MS Windows deployment/migration experience is an advantage
  • Fluency in oral and written English is needed. Other languages are a plus
  • Proven track record of multi-tasking and delivering excellent customer support
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and team-work skills
How you will thrive and create an impact
  • You will be mainly responsible for meeting all the IT needs of our local facility from new hires/adds/moves/changes to providing on-premises tier 2 technical support at Avantor key locations globally
  • Successfully respond to service tickets/ requests for local and remote desktop support for assigned offices as required to meet service level agreements (e.g., smartphone/tablet devices support)
  • Manage user expectations and provide frequent updates on progress/ changes in the anticipated time to resolve
  • Interact with network services, client engineer and or applications support to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem (Undertake image and software installs, fault finding and diagnostic checks)
  • Set up and maintain new IT equipment for the office (printers, computers etc.) and ensure users have appropriate access to all IT resources required for their tasks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, application, network, user access or related issues and ensure timely escalation of more complex problems or unresolved issues to next level of support
  • Comply with the parameters of local 3rd Party Contracts and serve as their local point of contact by handling the whole vendor relationship, including bidding, ordering, and invoice review
