Job description

The Oxford Department of International Development is looking to recruit an IT Support Assistant who will be a key part of the IT team. The postholder will act as the first point of contact on the IT service desk, reviewing and analysing incoming support and service requests and carrying out maintenance and improvement activities for the IT, AV and Learning Technologies services used by the departmental community. They will support the department’s IT customers by delivering a professional and timely response to technical queries through a variety of communication channels.
This is a role for someone who enjoys operating a wide range of technology as support requests on any given day can range from helping users resolve issues with desktop applications, working with IT Services to resolve email issues.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of providing frontline IT support with experience in hardware and software troubleshooting and problem solving. They will have experience of working with AV equipment, e.g. touch screens, microphones, cameras. The postholder will have strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy and highly developed planning, organisation and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skill with the ability to interact with a wide range of people and proactively develop and maintain professional relationships is essential to this role.
This post is full time and fixed term for 18 months.
