This role is based in Manchester, you must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work. We offer free parking.

You will be responsible for:

  • Participating in training sessions and hands-on exercises to gain foundational knowledge in IT support, with a focus on Office 365, cloud security, and Azure
  • Providing technical assistance and support to customers, both remotely and in-person, under the guidance of experienced team members
  • Responding promptly to customer inquiries and providing accurate information and solutions in a friendly and professional manner, while utilizing the knowledge gained during training
  • Assisting in troubleshooting and resolving basic hardware and software problems, including diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting system upgrades with support and supervision
  • Collaborating with experienced team members to ensure efficient and effective problem resolution and customer satisfaction, leveraging their expertise in Office 365, cloud security, and Azure
  • Learning and following best practices for documenting customer interactions, inquiries, comments, and actions taken to track issues and identify recurring problems
  • Contributing to the documentation of technical procedures, guidelines, and knowledge base articles related to Office 365, cloud security, and Azure under the guidance of experienced team members
  • Staying updated with the latest IT trends, technologies, and best practices, specifically related to Office 365, cloud security, and Azure, through continuous learning and training

You will need the following skills:

  • Passion for IT: Demonstrated enthusiasm and genuine interest in the IT field, even with limited prior knowledge.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service. Ability to communicate effectively and patiently with customers of varying technical knowledge.
  • Writing Skills: Basic written communication skills to document customer interactions and effectively communicate solutions.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to learn and apply systematic troubleshooting techniques to resolve basic technical issues.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, learn from experienced team members, and assist when required.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week:

37.5 hours per week, 9am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday
