Job Description: IT Support Technician at Highland Packers
Highland Packers have been producing fresh high-quality meat products for over 60 years. Delivering all around the Niagara, Hamilton, and Toronto regions. Highland Packers is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic IT Support Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with solid computer knowledge and who is eager to learn and grow in the field of IT support. As an IT Support Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting with various IT tasks, including software support, troubleshooting, and basic network administration.

Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support to end-users, assisting with hardware and software issues.
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Support the usage and basic administration of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint for effective collaboration and document management.
- Assist in basic IT projects, under the guidance of IT staff, by providing support in areas such as software installations and system upgrades.
- Perform basic computer system setups, configurations, and repairs.
- Assist in data backups and contribute to ensuring data integrity and security.
- Collaborate with the IT team and external vendors for routine maintenance and upgrades.
- Occasionally perform physical tasks such as lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs, as needed.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint is a plus but not mandatory.
- A keen interest in computers and technology, with a willingness to learn and develop IT skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
- Good time management skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team and provide excellent customer service.
- Physical capability to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Casual to adept experience with computers and networks, either through personal use or previous part-time roles.
- Any additional relevant certifications or training in IT support is a plus but not mandatory.
