ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are on the lookout for a talented IT Support Coordinator in our Edmonton Office.
Reporting to the Corporate Director of Information Technology, you will coordinate the activities of the Service Desk at Associated and provide high level support to staff with the use of information technology in the execution of our business, using a client service approach. You will also provide Corporate IT support as well as coordinate IT Support Technicians in the subsidiary offices, ensuring they have the resources necessary to support end-users.
What you will be doing:
- Function as a skilled part of the Support Technician team, responsible for coordinating the efforts of that team with respect to the Service Desk, providing escalated support and back-fill for all subsidiaries.
- Operate as a centralized extension of the local office IT Support Technicians, representing the Corporate IT group, and supporting the Corporate IT Business plan.
- Work to deliver the services defined in the Service Objectives for Subsidiary IT Services.
- Monitor the Service Desk for all users, ensuring that the automation for prioritizing and addressing tickets is functioning correctly, steering tickets as required, handling escalated tickets as necessary, and documenting outcomes.
- Provide Escalated Support for the following:
- Laptop and desktop computers and end-user software
- Smartphones
- Creating and managing user accounts and passwords
- Setup and configuration of desktop and laptop computers, including the standard operating environment and company applications
- Maintain the IT asset inventory for Corporate IT assets and assist subsidiaries in maintaining their inventories.
- Monitor backup jobs.
- Assist the local office IT support technicians with problems.
- Decommission and dispose of retired network infrastructure equipment.
- Assist in the deployment of new network infrastructure equipment.
- Assist in the generation and maintenance of the Corporate IT Capital Budget and Subsidiary Capital Budgets and monitor expenditures.
- Assist in maintaining IT administration documentation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
ABOUT YOU
What you will bring:
- Post secondary diploma/degree from an accredited university or college in any of the following fields: Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Management, or Information System Management.
- Minimum 3 years providing IT support
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Service oriented and a committed team player
- Strong spoken and written communication, documentation, and organization skills
- Firm understanding of company IT policies
- Available for weekends or after-hours work, if necessary
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to assist in the preparation of Corporate IT capital budgets and maintain inventory
- Familiar with ITIL service delivery
- Experience with ITIL-oriented service desk tool(s)
- Advanced Windows and Active Directory proficiency and troubleshooting skills
- Microsoft 365 and Azure AD skills
- Advanced TCP/IP network troubleshooting skills are an asset
- VMWare vSphere skills are an asset
