The University of Worcester IT Service has created several opportunities for students who are looking to gain work experience, becoming a part of our team which is integral in the running of many services within the University. This role will require the applicant to be highly motivated and flexible when meeting the business needs across 7 days a week, 07:00 until 21:00.
This role includes supporting our IT Service desks within The Hive and The Peirson Study Centre, providing face-to-face IT support to Students, Staff, external guests, and members of the public. In addition to performing pre-maintenance checks across audio visual technology in learning spaces.
The successful candidate will be required to work regularly on both the St Johns campus and the City campus and must have a flexible approach to covering absence at short notice. IT Student Support Assistants generally work a minimum of 4 hours per week and generally work between 4 – 8 hours for walk-up support desks and 2 hours for pre-maintenance checks.
This type of paid work is an ideal way for students to enhance their CV. Training and support is provided where appropriate.

From 1 August 2023, the rate of pay for this role will increase to £11.22 per hour.
