
IT Specialist Cambridge, East of England, England
Job description
The role holder will act as the first contact point, receiving and handling requests for support, and will provide technical expertise to respond to a broad range of service requests whilst overseeing the development of IT needs within the Finance Division. As part of the Financial Systems Group, you will be required to interact with users throughout the Finance Division primarily, but also assist users in other functions within the building.
The Role
The work will be varied from carrying out equipment audits, to purchasing IT peripherals, to maintaining databases and developing tools to aid the delivery of a number of projects within the Division. You will be heavily engaged in Sharepoint and assisting in the management of web content for the Finance Division. This role requires excellent knowledge and experience of tools such as Power BI and Power automate to design and implement process automation and reporting.

The position is forward facing so an excellent organisational and inter personal skills are essential along with a pro-active work ethic. Provides assistance to users in a professional manner following agreed procedures for further help or escalation.

Location
The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows.
The Finance Division has embraced hybrid working and individuals are currently working with their team two days a week from a University site, principally Greenwich House, and three days worked remotely (for those working a standard Mon to Fri week). This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.
