Information Technology - Summer Employment Opportunity
Administration Offices and various locations to be determined
Casual term position
35 hours per week
Effective ASAP to August 31, 2023
Summary: Reporting to a manager from the Information Technology department, the summer student will assist with hardware refresh (including moving, unboxing and asset tagging new equipment), preparing old equipment for disposal, and perform device configuration and file cleanup maintenance tasks.
Duties may include:
- Unpacking and packing boxes of computer equipment
- Manually lifting items from 35 to 50 lbs including IT equipment and ladders
- Climbing a ladder to reach access points in ceilings
- Performing project-related tasks such as: deliver/setup/remove/inventory equipment, install and affix asset tags
- Completing workplace training requirements
- May be required to transport equipment between buildings
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
Qualifications:
- Education and experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Technical training and aptitude is an asset
- Communication and interpersonal skills:
- Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously with staff and management
- Respect confidentiality of work
- Organization and time management:
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet set tasks within timelines
- Strong problem-solving skills
- High degree of initiative
- A valid MB driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- Ability to climb a ladder is required. Ladder training will be provided.
