Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

About the Role
Schedule: Full time, permanent
Position Reports To: IT Supervisor
Position Overview:
Reporting to the IT Supervisor, IT Specialist assists with coordinating the effective design, implementation and function of information technology systems and applications and provide support to the information system activities.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support for users onsite and remote
IT service provisioning (i.e. add/delete users, change of access, password resets)
Mobile device provisioning and troubleshooting
Microsoft server and cloud administration
Maintain Microsoft infrastructure (Active Directory, O365, GPO, DHCP, DNS, Hyper-V)
Manage and own small to moderate projects.
Building relationships and working closely with site with assisting on projects.
Work with other departments and vendors on IT related projects
Ensuring patching and Windows compliance cycles are up to date.
Network troubleshooting and problem solving
Backup and recovery
Server management
Monitoring and resolving incidents using the ITIL best practices
Qualifications
University or College degree/diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology
3+ years experience in Information Technology; a combination of education and experience will be considered; Mining experience an asset.
Experience with Microsoft Server administration
Experience designing and administering SharePoint Online
Customer service focused with previous help desk experience.
Organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively, managing multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands and deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft product suite, including but not limited to: AZURE, Active Directory, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Windows 10/11, and Office 365.
Other Requirements
Sound knowledge of TCP/IP and basic networking principles
Racking/cabling of servers and network equipment
Ability to problem solve and handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
Ability to be on call after business hours, as required.
