We are a dynamic and ever-changing organisation with new services and teams regularly coming on board. As such we are looking for a part-time Trainee IT Skills Community Champion to join our Digital Connect Team on a fixed-term basis.
The role will be to provide training support and help those digitally and socially excluded to improve their dessential IT skills and learning. This includes providing one-to-one or group training on the full range of digital areas in outreach locations to residents across a geographical area; creating a learning environment in a holistic approach to support residents in building confidence, skills, accessibility, and connectivity to the digital world; and to increase the expansion of the project delivery across North East Derbyshire by sourcing, recruiting and training of volunteers to become Digital Champion volunteers.
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have excellent communication skills
- Can manage own time effectively with a keen eye for detail
- Can complete tasks to the highest quality
- Can monitor and maintain own standards ensuring work is accurate
- Have worked in a public-facing role
- Are experienced in working with a diverse range of people and providing a welcoming environment for clients
- Are in possession of a full driving licence and use of a car, or otherwise able to fulfil the travel requirements necessary
Full training and support will be given to the successful candidate to enable them to carry out their role
Responsibilities / Key Tasks:
- To deliver digital training to a wide variety of people with patience, understanding and empathy
- Create a supportive learning environment to ensure clients feel valued, motivated and inspired in their learning journey.
- To create, build and maintain constructive links with local partners, community groups and organisations, volunteer services to strengthen development opportunities and promotion of the service.
- To source and recruit new volunteers to become Digital Champion Volunteers to increase delivery outcomes
- To maintain administration systems including case recording, training plans, case studies, data collection and statistical monitoring/reports
- To maintain confidentiality, use discretion and sound judgement in undertaking all areas of responsibilities
