Central Groups is seeking an experienced IT Specialist to join our team in Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support and troubleshooting, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Central Auto & Transport is a family owned & operated towing company that has been in business for 100 years. We currently have over 50 vehicles ranging from 80 ton rotators to light duty wreckers. Our fleet is new and well maintained.
The IT Specialist will maintain and improve the technical systems of a company to ensure all employees have the technology they need to complete their work and the organization’s important files and information remain safe and intact.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software.
- Able to handle challenging requests and multiple projects with competing interests for time.
- Monitor system performance and identify and resolve issues.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures.
- Train end-users on new software and hardware
- Providing comprehensive support to everyday users such as company staff, to address their technical needs and ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Facilitating technology installations
- Reviewing diagnostics and assessing the functionality and efficiency of systems regularly to maintain optimal performance for everyday users.
- Providing user support during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, and remaining flexible for occasional evening and/or weekend calls to ensure seamless technical assistance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or associate degree in IT field or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
- Able to handle multiple projects with competing interests for time.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge/experience supporting Windows 10 & 11 workstations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills.
- On-call support rotation.
- Ability to lift/move equipment.
- Video-conference administration experience/knowledge
Location: Hartford, CT
Schedule:
- Flexibility to be on call 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
