Job description
The Department of IT Services is actively seeking an IT Security Analyst to join the expanding team. Reporting to the Head of IT (Service Delivery), you will be responsible for the development and management of systems security and facilitation of LSTM’s response to change in the dynamic sphere of cyber security.
Possessing in-depth experience and knowledge in the domain, you will elevate the organisation’s security posture and provide quality technical advice to stakeholders across departments.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Align security activities with LSTM’s Digital Strategy and the IT Services operational plan
- Perform threat and vulnerability assessments and take remedial and preventive action
- Undertake patch deployment to strengthen systems
- Research threats and vulnerabilities and take action to mitigate threats and remediate
- Develop and manage dashboards with security tools and SIEM environments
- Manage the installation and configuration of security systems and applications
The successful candidate will have demonstrable analytical and communication skills coupled with a customer focussed approach on prioritising workloads.
Key requirements include (but not limited to):
- IT security or network security experience gained within a complex organization along with developing, documenting, and maintaining security documents/procedures
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products and services, including Microsoft 365 tenant administration
- Knowledge of information security principles, including risk assessment, intrusion detection / prevention, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, threat, and vulnerability management.
- Technical proficiency with security-related systems and applications, Firewalls, M365 Apps for Enterprise / e-mail security, SIEM, anti-malware tools, vulnerability assessment systems, network anomaly detection and intrusion prevention.
