Here at XPO Logistics, we’re currently recruiting an IT Project Manager to join our expanding Technology team in Crick (NN6 7SL). In this new key role, you’ll be responsible for project managing specified IT projects within XPO Transport reporting to the Head of IT. Working pattern Monday - Friday 0900 - 1730 (3 days a week in the office, 2 working from home).

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £55,000 per annum depending on experience. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Scope the IT deliverables and managing business expectations in IT projects & commercial IT proposals
- Ensure IT project costs are appropriate for our business and recovered in line with budget.
- Ensure IT projects meet the business requirements and IT projects deliver expected benefits
- Risk and issue management throughout IT project (planning and delivery)
- Escalation point, liaison, and support for the business during IT projects
- Monitor & report on project progress
- Submit IT project documents and reports in line with IT and business needs
- Work with business teams and IT teams to ensure we have effective and efficient IT projects
- Ensure project team’s work activities are undertaken in line with the department and company standards and to the required level of quality
- Accountable for the engagement of IT resources throughout the lifecycle of the IT project
- Be accountable for maximising business value for all IT projects
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- Demonstrable understanding/experience of Transport / Distribution
- Experience in Transport Management Systems, e.g., Sharp, GTS, etc.
- Graduate or significant/relevant experience/qualification in IT & projects
- Highly numerate, high attention to detail with commercial awareness
- Competence in trouble shooting with the objective of task completion
- Diplomatic but assertive
- Strong decision-making and capable of facilitating decision-making
- Ability to make key contacts quickly
- Capable of innovative approach to simplify IT projects
- The ability to understand and translate customers’ requirements and the businesses’ requirements into IT deliverables and vice versa
- Capable of communicating complex topics simply
- Ability to cope with complex, sometimes conflicting business demands
