We are seeking an expert IT Operations (1st Level) Specialist to join our Trelleborg Group IT Team. Based at our Leicester site you will also support our Solihull production facility.

The main purpose of this role is to identify, diagnose, and resolve IT infrastructure problems on 1st level (first/single point of contact) for all Trelleborg users and communicate solutions to end-users in a user-friendly, professional manner. You will also have opportunities to support projects remotely or onsite.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Escalate incidents to next level support when the solution is unknown or cannot be solved within defined time frames.
  • Deal with multiple users and prioritise service in line with business needs.
  • Support of asset management processes following defined IT standards.
  • Education of users based on Trelleborg processes to make optimal use of Trelleborg business systems.
  • Active contribution to 2nd level group activities where required.
  • Contribute ideas to improve IT processes/services.
  • Support implementation of new and/or improved IT processes/projects following IT standards.
  • Document, in an understandable matter, problems, solutions, results of project work as well as any elaborated results within the area of responsibility.
  • Work collaboratively with others to achieve group goals.

Experience:

This position calls for an individual with a degree of computer science, but equivalent combinations of education, experience, and certification will be considered. You will need to demonstrate experience of working in a global IT organization underlined by knowledge of but not limited to networking, Microsoft Infrastructures, and security awareness.

Competencies:

Communication is a key part of this role as you will interact continually with our internal partners. Therefore, we are looking for someone who can communicate concisely with professionalism and confidence at all levels of interaction within our business.

To be effective in this role, you must demonstrate a high-level customer service commitment with focus on problem solving in a timely manner for your customers. It is also an important requirement that you can manage your own work schedule and work to your own initiative.

Finally, we are looking for someone who will contribute towards our way of doing business; but will come up with innovative solutions and understands the important role they play in the overall success of the company. Due to the UK travel requirements within this role, it is important that you hold a valid full UK driving license.
