IT Operations Manager Leatherhead, England
Job description
Arcas Technology is partnered with a leading Media company based in Surrey who are currently looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join their business on a permanent basis.
As a leader, you will be responsible for managing a dedicated group that supports a cloud-based infrastructure. Your primary focus will involve overseeing daily operations, driving enhancements in technical workflows and ensuring exceptional service delivery to customers.
Responsibilities:
· Offer effective guidance and leadership to the support team for cloud services. Oversee their day-to-day activities in delivering remote editing solutions through a data center to renowned production companies and broadcast clients worldwide.
· Develop and document optimised workflows tailored to specific clients, increasing efficiency.
· Serve as a point of contact for managing and resolving support tickets in a timely manner.
· Coordinate with Data Center operations and assist in managing connectivity to remote sites.
· Handle escalations of support tickets to external service providers.
· Create and document internal workflows, troubleshooting steps, and guidance materials.
· Plan, create, and manage workflows to support client projects.
· Establish and periodically update guidelines and rules related to firewall and security policies, particularly housekeeping aspects.
· Collaborate with the commercial team to enhance and support remote services while effectively managing available resources.
· Supervise the licensing management process, ensuring smooth updates with minimal impact on clients.
· Ensure routine maintenance and regular system checks are conducted on supported systems, promptly addressing any issues that arise.
· Evaluate new software and hardware for practical application, documenting findings for financial purposes.
· Manage relationships with third-party service providers and suppliers.
· Understand and oversee the IT setup of the company's office, including firewall, Wi-Fi, and networking infrastructure.
Required Skills:
· Demonstrated experience in managing technical teams with a focus on client interactions.
· Thorough knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, macOS, Linux, and iOS.
· Strong grasp of networking principles (e.g., Routing, Switching), Active Directory, DNS and Virtual Machine Environments.
· Background in working within a post-production environment.
· Evidence of business acumen.
· Proficiency in building and maintaining computer systems and documenting associated processes.
· Ability to generate technical reports and create drawings.
· Experience with shared storage systems and media asset management.
· Understanding of cloud computing and virtual machine technology.
· Proficiency in configuring firewalls and switches.
· Experience with VM environments.
· Knowledge of Dell Switches.
