What will you do?
The Manager of Information Technology Operations (ITOps) manages the IT Support staff and oversees the day-to-day workflow the IT Operations department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages, oversees, and assists with the management & maintenance of IALR operations to include:
- Workstation purchasing and deployment
- IALR IT Helpdesk
- User administration and email systems
- Security Network including campus access control, security cameras, and intercom equipment
- Video-conferencing equipment; audio-visual and presentation systems
- Voice over IP and integrated messaging systems
- Application management and deployment
- Campus Bizhub print services
- Manages, trains, and develops ITOps Technicians and Specialists and provides or coordinates staff training.
- Schedules, directs, coordinates and reviews ITOps work plans; assigns work activities and projects; reviews and evaluates work methods and procedures; meets with staff to identify and resolve problems
- Facilitates and oversees the IT Helpdesk ticketing system, ensuring effective and helpful support is provided to end users.
- Ensures IT needs are met for Institute Conference Center events
- Collaborates with IT leaders to maintain knowledge of trends and developments in information technology, alerting senior staff of the effects widespread software and hardware revisions, changes, and discontinuation will have on the organization’s systems and operations
- Oversees the day-to-day workflow of the ITOps department
- Organizes and oversees the schedules of ITOps staff
- Recommends budget plans to support IALR technological needs and advancement to the Director of IT
- Ensures maintenance of Service Level Agreements (SLA) for servers, the network, Call Manager, firewalls, and all other technology-related items.
- Develops and modifies IT-related policies and procedures as needed
- Evaluates existing information technology needs of all departments; plans, coordinates, and implements improvements in service as needed
- Advises and collaborates with IALR staff on IT solutions to meet their needs
- Develops and maintains vendor relationships to ensure high performance for price and delivery
- Oversees and orders technology supplies and equipment and maintain the inventory
- Performs other related duties as required

We are looking for staff to work onsite in Danville, VA.
What do you offer?
- Bachelor’s degree in computer related discipline, or equivalent experience required
- 5 years of related technical experience, required
- One year of experience managing employees and budgets
- Experience required to independently install, upgrade and maintain one or more computer networks, including hardware, software, and network cabling; independently evaluating and resolving network problems
- Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure, and conform to changing demands
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products

- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel throughout Southern Virginia as well as occasional out-of-state trips
