Location Profile:
Located in Gardena California, Permaswage designs and manufactures separable and permanent fluid fittings and installation tooling for aerospace and defense applications.
Position Summary:
Support IT team to drive business goals including partnering with multiple departments to reduce variability within the manufacturing cycle, increasing productivity, providing continuous improving visibility to meaningful data, and working with Division IT to maintain critical systems to > 99.9% uptime in a 24/7 environment.
Ensure compliance with SOX and current financial/IT requirements. Aligns information technology policies and procedures with division objectives and establishes IT systems and controls to ensure user satisfaction.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Organize staff, projects, and daily activities with the constant, intense focus on maximizing value to the organization.
- Partner with SOX Coordinator to ensure 100% compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and Corporate Policies.
- Defines user information requirements by conferring with users and analyzing requirements
- Maintain a positive relationship with all business departments
- Support IT team including helpdesk, system admin and development staff by ensuring proactive approach to IT while driving the correct priorities needed, providing regular performance feedback including formal reviews and driving for continuous improvement of the IT department
- Support IT Lead on JDE E1 ERP related projects working with various departments to meet business needs.
- Responsible for monitoring, upgrading and maintaining many systems in use at Permaswage to include phone systems, sales applications, engineering systems, building security, printers, workstations, networking components and other IT equipment.
- Analyze requests quickly to determine interrelationships with other modules/systems to assess impact and quickly determine best approach. Provide realistic timelines based on current workload.
- Active participation in plant Staff meetings and key line walks to understand current business needs and recommend solutions
- Consult with Division IT with upgrading, testing and maintaining the plant’s disaster recovery plan
- Consult with Division IT with design, plan, develop and implementation of upgrades to legacy applications and systems. Ensure 100% compliance to corporate implementation policies.
- Evaluates and implements IT procedures and equipment for maximum efficiency and cost containment.
- Ensures users are provided with professional and timely support and service.
- Support projects and multiple audits (SOX, Corporate Standards, Implementations)
- Work with other IT Managers within the division & company to leverage best practices and resources
- Manage and drive IT vendors to keep costs low and keep lead-times down for both services and purchases
- Work with Syteline implementation group and provide IT support
Required Experience
To perform the job successfully, an individual must demonstrate the following competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT
- Experience managing a critical ERP system
- Highly motivated and driven individual
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
- Must be a team player with a strong customer orientation
- Ability to think strategically and plan over a multi-year time span
- Ability to successfully manage many issues/projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ‘can do’ drive and attitude
