Responsibilities
Assists the Director of Information Technology in the daily operations of the department. Functional areas include technology purchases, computer and system maintenance, technical support, and system/network security. Assists in staffing decisions and provides daily supervision of Information Technology Staff. Prepares and manages the staff schedule not just for daily work but for event and after-hours support. Manages all network infrastructure in coordinate with our partners on campus.
Responsible for training of Information Technology staff and coordinating schedules for daily work and Athletics events.
Serves as principle point of contact to answer inquiries and serve as a liaison between users and Information Technology Services and other departments providing services to Athletics. Identifies and documents department needs and communicates them to the Director of Information Technology. Serves as onsite support for Athletics technology provided by third party vendors. Must be able to work with outside groups to achieve resolution of technical issues to meet department deadlines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and four years of experience related to the duties of this position; or high school/equivalency and eight years of experience related to the duties of this position. (Note: a higher level of education may substitute for experience at the comparable rate.)
- Experience with project planning, development, and evaluation.
- Experience within the telecommunications, network, and/or data fields.
- Experience supervising and training employees.
- Experience documenting existing and new processes.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking based upon in-depth data, substantiating information, considering and respecting others' input personal values, and ethics.
- Valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License
