Farrow and Ball – Head of IT Projects & Service Delivery, Wimborne (Hybrid)
We are currently looking for a solution oriented, decisive individual with extensive knowledge of the IT industry to join our IT team as Head of IT Projects & Service Delivery. We are offering this position on a full-time hybrid basis.

As part of the Leadership Team, the Head of IT Projects & Service Delivery is responsible for setting the overall Farrow & Ball IT global vision and strategy. This includes Systems and Reporting, driving IT development, delivering excellent service, maintaining system integrity and helping the Company meet its profit targets, whilst promoting the Farrow & Ball brand worldwide.
What we expect from you as our Head of IT Projects & Service Delivery:
Key Responsibilities
- Align vision and set strategy for IT in F&B, across global markets
- Shape, drive and execute effective long-term IT business strategies and short/medium-term tactics
- Lead the IT Team in setting and implementing the IT strategy
- Overall responsibility for budget preparation and control across IT department
- Ensure core system security, stability, efficiency and scalability
- Proactively propose, define and manage plans to update and upgrade software where required
- Responsible for the overall planning, direction and control of IT. Identifying, reporting on and delivering IT business opportunities in core markets
- Maintain and leverage existing system capability and develop bespoke systems where appropriate
- Overall accountability for supplier management including the management and review of the outsourced IT Service Desk and technical support (through the Service Delivery Manager)
- Matrix management of F&B IT Operations team for delivery of service standards and projects
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
- Responsible for negotiation with suppliers for best value and commercial advantage including contract negotiations, annual capex spend and opex management etc
- Use KPIs to measure service levels to internal and external customers, while maximising process improvement and cost control but ultimately to deliver best in class service, irrespective of the location or geography
- Lead, develop and motivate the IT team
- Engage with stakeholders, completing business analysis to identify required changes to support and lead key projects
- As part of the Leadership Team, contribute to the evolution of F&B’s Vision and Values and development of budget/ planning process
Key Experience
- Educated to bachelor degree level, (Information Technology and/or Business management desirable)
- Management experience of working within organisations which have experienced global growth and of comparable size i.e. with a global turnover of £40 million +
- Extensive knowledge of the IT industry and the factors that allow companies to maximise their IT capabilities
- Proven excellence in planning and execution with a demonstrable track record of delivering results through effective team leadership
- Proven track record in developing and establishing new IT ideas/systems appropriate for the business challenge(s)
- Commercial experience of developing and running complex IT systems in multiple countries able to maximise and deliver high level strategic IT ideas with a combination of hands on practical can do mind set
- Experience of Retail systems and working with ERP systems
- Able to manage and control a large IT budget
- Highly capable and adept stakeholder manager, credible operator and influencer
