Job description
The manager of hosting operations will proactively and holistically lead and support hosting activities related to on premise and cloud (Azure) hosting solutions. These solutions enable the organization’s current and future-state business capabilities and drive the organization’s targeted business outcomes. Capabilities and solutions include servers, storage, cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), automation, on premise data centers, backup/recovery, sustainability, infrastructure as code, and other innovative hosting technologies.
This hosting manager will provide leadership, facilitation, analysis, planning, technical support, project organization and design tasks required for the sustaining of daily operations and future development for hosting services across the North, Central, and South American regions of the enterprise and global on premise and cloud infrastructure. They will enable and orchestrate the delivery of targeted business outcomes through collaboration, knowledge sharing, facilitation, influencing and driving the implementation of technical decisions. This position requires hands-on technical support along with project and management of 4-6 employees.
Key responsibilities
- Understands technology trends and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies and collaborates globally with team members, service owners, and other resources to develop infrastructure technology that enables and drives new business capabilities, operating models, and business/IT agility
- Work with other IT and application teams to implement automation of their processes and improved monitoring of their systems
- Develop, document, maintain IT processes and procedures related data centers and hosting (on premise and cloud)
- Develop, document, maintain and expand use of automation in infrastructure and operations
- Expand, refine, and mature reporting and metrics for kpi’s of the team
- Ensure that Data Center and hosting infrastructure is maintained and on current software and firmware revision levels
- Provide service and support on a 24x7 established schedule including emergency response to system outages and daily reporting of system health checks for leadership
- Lead and mentor team members (4-6) and help develop their skills to support the future of hosting.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in IT systems, computer science, information technology/science, technology engineering, system analysis, MIS or a related study
- Minimum of five years of working as part of an IT team managing host technologies such as servers, storage, backups, and cloud and others
- Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments
- Experience and understanding of service ownership, project management, Azure operations and best practices, automation, scripting, and to support other team members. Must be well organized, show initiative, accept responsibility for issues and their resolution, and developing Infrastructure automation and support processes
- Ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with peers and cross functional team members from a variety of business functions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to address business issues and conflicts in a professional, constructive, and non-technical manner
- Ability and desire to continuously learn, grow technology and business skills, and be collaborative and agile in how they work
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
