Title: Software Engineer – UK Summer Intern
KBR EMEA headquarters in Leatherhead, Surrey, is seeking to fill a Software Engineer Intern position to support its corporate IT function.
The successful candidate will become an integral member of the IT Digital Solutions team, which focuses primarily on delivering new products/platforms to internal business customers. In 2023, the teams focus will likely be on Microsoft’s Power Platform, Hyperautomation, Azure Cognitive Services (incl. OpenAI integration) and the Metaverse. However, this can quickly change as new technologies emerge and trends shift.
This position will focus on research and the creation of Feasibility Prototypes / PoCs (Proof of Concepts) using various platforms. One day you may be developing a website in .Net/C# and the next day you may be hooking an RPA robot up to an NLP platform.
This internship is very flexible.
- This is a summer placement, but we can be flexible with start and end dates
- If you have other commitments and fulltime work is a no-go, we can work around it.
- We typically work from home (it really doesn’t matter where you live in the UK), but days in the office can also be arranged.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with a passion for Software Engineering.
The ideal candidate will:
- have recently obtained a Computer Science (or similar) degree or be part way through obtaining a degree.
- have experience in developing digital products: websites, games, mobile apps, etc.
- have strong communication skills with an ability to articulate ideas to techies and non-techies alike.
- be a self-starter. If you’re required to develop on a new/unknown platform, the expectation is that you will learn what is required and provide invaluable insight into the effort required to become an expert.
- have some knowledge of programming languages: .Net, CSS, C#, HTML.
- Be eligible to work in the UK on a long term basis.
- have bags of enthusiasm.
