IT Infrastructure Engineer - UK remote based
This is a remote based role that will involve travel to business offices from time to time across the UK as per business needs.
Purpose of the Role
This exciting remote based IT Infrastructure Engineer opportunity has arisen to join our IT Operations team to support the demands of the wider business, whilst maintaining all best practise standards and processes. This will be achieved in line with the business technology strategy and assist in providing a robust platform for the future growth of the business.
What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more:
· Scoping, planning, documenting, and implementing of technologies as required to the highest standards.
· Deliver customer and stakeholder management to all those with an interest in any works undertaken.
· Research solutions through internal and external knowledge base, as needed.
· Liaise with business, vendors and other IT personnel for the progression of change works.
· Escalate issues with accurate documentation to suitable technical expert or vendor, when required.
· Create knowledge articles for project solutions to be used for future support.
· Provide suggestions for continual improvement.
· Service-related focus with the ability to place yourself in the position of the customer to understand their concerns and issues.
Who we are looking for
This is an opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer who is willing work as part of a team and manage stakeholders at all levels. We are looking for someone has:
- 3rd line support experience and managing support tickets that have been escalated to the infrastructure team.
- Knowledge and experience of cloud-based technologies.
- Demonstratable experience in using 3rd party migration tools.
- Ability to analyse infrastructure, highlighting area of risk and put forward suggestions for systems improvements.
- General network and infrastructure monitoring knowledge.
- Storage platform and data migration experience.
- Ability to analyse infrastructure, highlight areas of risk and can make suggestions for system improvements.
You will also need knowledge and experience of:
- Premise and Azure Active Directory Domain Services
- Office 365 and Exchange Online administration
- Device management using SCCM/inTune
- SQL
- Firewall and VPN
- IT security
- DFS
- SharePoint
- Infrastructure as Code – Terraform/Ansible
- Virtulisation technology

You will need to have excellent attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving skills with experience delivering projects from start to finish.
