Cambridge, UK | Full-time | Permanent | Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 DOE

Riverlane is the world’s first quantum engineering company. We are hardware-obsessed, qubit agile and commercially driven. We’re a passionate team collaboratively tackling some of humanity’s biggest opportunities, from climate change to materials science and new drug discovery.
You will join our cross-disciplinary team of software developers and digital designers, embedded software engineers, mathematicians, quantum information theorists, computational chemists and physicists – all world experts in their fields. Our collaborative, close-knit team has a track record of delivering high-quality R&D across the full quantum stack. As a growing company, you will have the freedom to think independently and creatively, as well as contribute to Riverlane’s business development.
About the role
As an IT Engineer at Riverlane, you will require a broad range of skills, experience and a strong sense of curiosity. You will have shared responsible for:
- General IT setup, including software tools and IT infrastructure
- Compute configuration, including cloud infrastructure strategy
- System and network admin
- Providing support for teams or functions when they are selecting IT solutions
- Working with IT suppliers or sub-contractors
- Training on IT topics including security
Requirements
What we need
- Ability to learn fast and understand team/customer needs
- Ability to work as part of a team, working closely with engineers, scientists and non-technical people
- Experience in using and administrating software configuration management tools
- Experience in using and administrating jira & github
- Experience working with Microsoft tools
- Knowledge of scripting for Windows and Mac
- Compute configuration and System admin
- The right to work in the UK

- Cybersecurity knowledge
- IT project management
- Dashboard creation and sharing experience, enabling development teams to understand their IT context
- Licensing management, installation, purchasing and some experience of negotiation
- An interest in quantum computing
