Title: Helpdesk & IT Support Technician/Intern or Full Time or Part Time
Department: Information Technology
Reports to: Tim Thomas, VP/IT
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the VP of Information Technology provides technical support and assistance with bank’s computer systems, hardware, and software. Acts as a reference point for all IT related queries at the user level, responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Point of contact for desktop and notebook users and front-line support to pre-defined performance levels
- Manage the Helpdesk, tracing status of service calls, handling incoming calls, emails and mail, maintain documentation in an accurate manner, reporting of Helpdesk stats
- Maintain, monitor and log backup operations
- Setting up new and replacement computers for staff
- Investigate and resolve hardware issues and deal with Manufacturer support
- Perform hardware upgrades on laptop and desktops
- Security checks on guest computers, USB devices, etc. before these are connected to the infrastructure
- Ensure that PC or network security issues are reported and resolved
- Managing Wi-Fi access for Visitors and mobile devices
- Updating information in the network documentation
- Participate in monitoring and supporting network and system security
- Maintain MDM for non-desktop devices, including mobile, iPad, etc.
- Contribute to and sometimes lead departmental IT projects
- To undertake any other such duties as may reasonably be required in this position
- Full compliance with all documentation of IT procedures and processes
- Initial printer and copier trouble shooting and support
Skills and core competencies
· First class costumer facing skills with specific reference to detail and timeliness
· Proven problem solving and organizational ability
· Have a knowledge of common systems software such as current versions of windows desktop and server systems, network and office productivity applications
· Time management skills necessary to prioritize tasks based on immediacy
· An understanding of network wiring and TCP-IP and the ability to use such understanding to build and maintain a functional network
· Ability to listen actively and extract the important information from user complaints
· Ability to analyze hardware and software malfunctions to diagnose the root cause of the issue
· Have a knowledge of remote management tools such as GoToMyPC
· Willing to take initiative, learn, and support the team across a broad set of technologies
· Focus on efficient and effective problem resolution and customer service excellence
· Strong interpersonal skills and the willingness to operate across several functions within the organization
· Proactive in identifying and investigation of issues and presenting potential solutions
· Good communication and skills both written and oral
· Can contribute to developing and implementing IT maintenance policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related area, or 2 years of experience in a similar role or a High School diploma plus 4 years of experience in a similar role
- MS certifications are a plus, particularly in Desktop administration
- Office 365 administration experience is a plus
