**IT Assistant**
Alcohols Limited is a chemical distribution company which was formed in 1955 as a subsidiary of The Palmer Group. It is a private family company founded in 1805 which is still family owned today.
Currently our Head Office is in Hertfordshire, with storage and distribution sites in London and the West Midlands although we are building a new £22m facility in Rugby which will be opening later in 2023. This role will primarily be based in our Head Office near to Stansted Airport. The role will be mainly based I our Head Office with occasional home working or travel to our other sites.
The role is offered on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract.
**The Opportunity**
This role will provide support. technical assistance and training to staff for all IT related issues. In addition, you will support the IT Team in troubleshooting problems through diagnostic tests including remote access and identifying opportunities to continuously improve our IT systems and their functionality. You will be part of a small team who work both on site and at home with additional third party generally remote support.
**What you will contribute**
- Monitor, respond quickly and resolve IT and technical queries and issues via chat, email, or phone and provide self help training to all staff to reduce recurring queries
- Support the set up of lap tops, mobiles and system access for new starters and deliver inductions
- Provide support to Senior IT staff in business critical situations.
- Responsible for PC's, Printers and related equipment (monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, etc) and mobile phones
- Resolve problems with networks and other computer systems
- Remotely access hardware or software for clients to make changes and fix problems
- Provide basic troubleshooting and user support for TROPOS system (including system errors, basic fixes and advice to users
- Follow the company initiatives for Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) (e.g. H&S Policy, Golden Rules) and exhibit SHE leadership through own behaviours.
- Good IT skills including Windows 10 operating system, Office 365, IOS and Android, PC/Laptop hardware support
- Expertise in MS Office 365 and Sharepoint systems and ability to provide and guidance assistance to other users.
- Agile problem solver, customer oriented. Patient and friendly and able to respond quickly to requests for information or support.

- Understanding and appreciation for information security within systems and user devices.

- Previous experience of working in IT support would be an advantage
