We’re currently offering the opportunity for an IT Apprentice in the Leeds, West Yorkshire area. Here you will gain valuable experience and develop a number of key skills that will help you to pursue a career within the IT and construction industry.
JN Bentley is a leading civil engineering and construction company in the UK, employing over 1850 people, with an annual turnover in the region of £300 million.
You will have a dedicated mentor to support your development throughout the course, you’ll have the opportunity to study for an IT Apprenticeship whilst working alongside experienced team members.
During your apprenticeship you'll have the opportunity to get involved in all areas of IT including:
  • You will get exposure to design, develop, code, test and debug data and software solutions
  • Use various software such as Power Platform, SQL and .Visual Studio
  • Work as part of a team and individually to overcome problems
  • You will write supporting technical documentation
What you’ll do:
  • Work with Business Analysts to understand business requirements.
  • Work in agile sprints to allow you to breakdown tasks into milestones.
  • Create data entry tools using programs such as PowerApps.
  • Create analytic dashboards and reports using programs such as PowerBI and SSRS.
  • Exposure to data warehousing.
  • Working with senior developers to convey your requirements and then to implement their code into your solution
  • Work with other members of team to produce larger scale data solutions.

Candidate Specification

  • English and Maths to GCSE Grades A – C, (4-9) or equivalent.
  • Ability to work professionally as part of a team
  • Effective analytical and problem determination skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative, to deadlines and under pressure
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
