Reporting to the Director - Finance & Administration, the Senior IT Technical Support providestechnical support toall areas of the business, including the Warehouse, Head Office, and retail stores.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for all activities related to the operation of all desktops and laptops including operational support. Manages activities relating to the network and computer room in conjunction with an MSP . Performs system analysis and optimization, configuration, and capacity planning. Audits the operating efficiency of computer systems and the validity of their internal controls. Controls security access and disaster prevention and recovery. Monitors, enforces, and reports on network security procedures and policies. Support, troubleshoot, and monitor the entire infrastructure services comprising of an on-premises Server, Share Point site, firewall, VPN, Email (M365), AD and Network Security and Disaster Recovery
Role & Responsibilities
Administration:
· Responsible for meeting budget goals and objectives.
· Projects software and hardware requirements.
· Develops standards for all operating systems and hardware.
· Presents information to management which may result in the purchase and installation of hardware, software, and communications equipment.
· Attends QBRs quarterly business reviews with MSSP and provides summary report to management.
· Maintains Olsen IT Incident Response Plan and reviews and updates annually as required. Creates, maintains and updates as required, documentation for Olsen IT administration procedures.
· Creates, maintains, and updates as required, employee IT “how-to’” documents.
Hardware:
Responsible for the provisioning, installation, and maintenance of all computer hardware (computers, cell phones, printers, etc).
Studies vendor products to determine those which best meet the organization’s business needs.
Resolves problems with new and existing equipment. Controls ordering of all computer hardware and supplies and maintains inventory of the same.
Desktop Services & Store Support
· Responsible for End User Support and Training
· Level 1 to Level 3 support for POS software and hardware.
· Support Olsen head office and head office warehouse, infrastructure, and desktop support for Olsen stores utilizing RMM software.
Application Support
· Is involved in the investigation and analysis of specific business requirements and user needs, to establish the suitability of an IT solution.
· Manages the testing and delivery of suitable solutions and application upgrades according to agreed specifications that add business value to products and services with budget and time constraints.
· Assist in NetSuite ERP and NSPOS including performing trouble shooting and provisioning.
COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES, TRAITS) AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum 5 years working experience in a similar position and working with help desk support issues.
· Exceptional customer service and communication skills
· Proven history of effectively documenting processes
· Experience using a ticketing system for monitoring support calls.
· Extensive working knowledge of workstation and server hardware, peripherals, network hardware, communications software/services
· Ability to apply technology in a hands-on manner
· Previous experience with NetSuite express writing is a definite asset
· Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
· Highly motivated, results oriented, and customer service driven
· Knowledge of retail and retail technology is a definite asset
· Experience focusing on user software test/evaluation/operational methodology in a networked environment is strongly preferred
· Demonstrated success in a multi-tasking, deadline-oriented environment with ability to prioritize decisions accurately
