Title: IT Analyst
Reports to: Information Technology Manager

As the IT Analyst, you will work to create and support a cutting-edge IT environment that allows Cabot’s efficiency, productivity, and mobility to be maximized. You will assist in the day-to-day administration and support of all IT areas at Cabot Cape Breton, and all associated locations. Focusing on level 1 & 2 deskside support, Office 365 Administration, IT Asset Management, the installation and configuration of new and existing network equipment including wireless access points, network switches, and cable terminations. The IT Analyst will also be responsible for assisting staff by supporting operating systems, software, and a variety of other applications used internally. This position will resolve technical help tickets submitted via phone, email, and walk-ups. Diagnose recurring technical issues and implement solutions to address the root of the problem.

Core Accountabilities:
  • First point of contact for staff seeking technical assistance over the phone or email for a Windows 2016 domain supporting Windows 10/MacOS clients
  • Assist staff with password resets, account setup/access, desktop deployment, printer setup/troubleshooting, software installs, Windows patching and VPN client connectivity issues
  • Mobile phone support
  • IT Hardware inventory tracking
  • Office 365 Administration

Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in a college or university related field
  • Must be proficient in English
  • Familiar with Active Directory administration/management
  • Possesses basic network knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol
  • A+ or Network+ certifications (entry level certifications)
  • Technology savvy with a “can do” attitude
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • MacOS experience is considered an asset
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have any of the following certifications: A+, CCNA, MCP/MCSE and Network+
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation
  • Highly responsible and able to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
