Job Description
Key areas of focus are:
- Financial performance – deposit growth to C£6 bn, 100% Net income growth by 2026 vs 2022
- Expat strategy - Strategy focused on increasing volume of new clients, primarily from UK Community and Private Banking where Islands can provide services that RFB cannot
- Institutional Banking - Strategy for growth focused on increasing market share and building our presence in the Financial Services sector, specifically to Trust & Corporate Services Providers
- GEM platform - key enabler which is now live to clients - £5bn of growth targeted through 5YOP
- Increased focus in ESG - Islands need to ensure that they comply with the industry standards and Group measures for Sustainable/Green Lending
What will you be doing
You will be responsible for running an end to business with its own P&L accountability, regulatory and government engagement with external profiling of the Islands business, ensuring it is represented positively in the communities in which we operate.
We are looking for people who:
- Are energised about the Bank’s purpose of Helping Britain Prosper in turn Helping the Islands Prosper
- Are enthusiastic about customers and colleague insight and have a demonstrable track record of applying insight to solve business problems
- Have experience of and love working in multi-disciplinary teams are inherently collaborative and not hierarchical
- Excited about developing digital-first propositions to solve customer problems
- Take initiative and not hesitant to challenge the status quo and traditional ways of thinking.
Skills, Knowledge, and capabilities
Essential
- Effective business control: breadth of knowledge and experience across the key businesses of Lloyds Banking Group and the wider financial services industry; understanding of economic, political, and social trends; knowledge and experience of prudential measures; ability to identify, articulate and manage risks to strategy; record of delivering results.
- Compliance with the regulatory system: high standards of conduct and behaviour, especially with regards to the interests of customers; record of delivery on compliance issues; record of robust assessment of colleagues' fitness and propriety; understanding of the importance of documentary evidence for key decisions.
- Responsible delegation of responsibility: understanding of corporate governance; willingness to lead from the front; ability to manage large teams across different jurisdictions.
- The Islands strategy is focused on growing balance sheet and ancillary income in existing client sectors where we are currently underrepresented with low market shares. This will be achieved through digital investment in the business over a three-year period.
