We have a great opportunity for an IS Network and Telecoms Engineer here at Bristol Water on a 18 months fixed term contract, who will be responsible for supporting the Data Network and Telephony services.
What will you be doing?
Ensuring that Bristol Water’s Data Network and Telephony systems, (hardware and software) meet the agreed targets for availability, reliability, performance, and security.
This role includes office and field-based work, as well as lone working and occasional out of hours work, either planned or in response to an incident.
Day to day you’ll…
- Maintain our Telephony systems, including configuration of services and features, analysing performance, usage and troubleshooting problems.
- Manage incidents, problems, and service requests, within SLA’s, using Service Management Toolset.
- Escalate issues in the event of complex security problems.
- Support suppliers in delivering secure data network and telephony services and for asset replacement, repair, and maintenance.
- Make sure Data Network and Telephony services are fit for purpose, meeting agreed security standards and changes in technology and regulatory requirements.
- Provide input into the Data Network and Telephony Strategy and keep this updated in-line with industry best practice, regulatory requirements, and business requirements.
- Support annual NIS CAF reviews /audits, Cyber Working Group Member and maintain asset infrastructure in line with Cyber Essentials and other relevant Security standards.
- Support in managing the finance budget for the service and maintenance of the Data Network and Telephony systems, preparing business cases and investment papers.
What we’re looking for...
- Excellent in Cisco Routing and Switching environment LAN and WAN, leased lines, VoIP, MPLS, and ADSL.
- Troubleshooting skills for Cisco Environment in quick time (Nexus 5k and 7k series, Cisco Enterprise routers 3900, 3800 & LAN switches 4500, 3700, 3800, Cat9K and Nexus 9K).
- Knowledge of DNS/DHCP/HPOV NNMi, WiFi Infrastructure.
- Excellent knowledge of network sniffer for capturing logs (Wireshark/ Ethereal/ Solar-wind or any other equivalent).
- Wireless network design, implementation, site surveys and performance reviews.
- Experience coordinating with telecoms/service provider/vendors.
- Experience with Mitel 3300, Call recording and speech analytics.
- Knowledge of cabling and various modules (Ethernet and Fibre).
- Excellent communication skills.
- CCNA certification.
- Check Point CCSA or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- ITIL V3/4 foundation certification or higher.
