We are offering an exciting opportunity to join the Newborn Hearing Screening Service at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital as a Hearing Screener - joining a small team of enthusiastic, organised and methodical screeners to undertake the Newborn hearing screening. We are based at AMH with screening mainly undertaken at the bedside prior to discharge, but also run outpatient clinics held at peripheral hospital sites within Grampian.
The successful candidate will be required to perform the screening of newborn babies in a timely manner, record and collect data, and liaise with professionals and parents.
Main duties of the job;
The post holder will be required to work across the Trust as and when required, therefore full driving licence is essential.
The post holder will require excellent communication skills and knowledge of basic IT systems. You will need to be a well-organised person, with an eye for detail and enjoy a challenge.
Previous experience of working with newborn babies and their families is essential as this is a major component of the role along with previous experience of administration work.
The work will be 21 hours over 3 days. The service runs at weekends, therefore post holders will be required to work Saturdays and Sundays on a rotational basis.
