Location: Farnborough (Office based)

Hours: 39.5 hours shift based – 4 days on 4 days off (2 days + 2 nights)

What will you be doing?


  • As part of the VBSE Assure team in a Network Management Centre you will be supporting multiple networks, providing 2nd Line operational support to Government customers.
  • Undertake Assure team maintenance and fault work in accordance with customer service level agreements.
  • Undertake remote provide/ commissioning work on Tx, IP and equipment deployed on customer and network sites to current specifications.
  • Deal effectively /efficiently with queries from customers.
  • Perform regular audits on the networks and systems.
  • Provide technical support to others in the department and to customers. Make recommendations to VBSE


Who you are


  • In depth knowledge of IP networking, switching and routing in a telecoms provider environment.
  • Awareness of configuration of Cisco, Nokia IP, Juniper & Ethernet equipment.
  • A clear and analytical approach to problem management.
  • Understanding of ITIL working practices- Nice to have
  • In depth knowledge of Transmission equipment and networks, DWDM, SDH, PDH, etc, in a telecoms provider environment. Nice to have.
  • Awareness of configuration of Ciena and Nokia equipment.


Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
