Post Title: Invigilator
SBU/Department: Academic Registry – Academic Services
Duration of Contract: Casual
Salary: £10.44 per hour, plus 12.07% accrued holiday per total value
Location: College Lane and de Havilland Campus
As part of the Exams and Awards Office team to ensure the smooth and effective invigilation of the University’s exams. Incumbent will be assisting experienced invigilators working in large halls or individually in a room with a smaller group of students.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Place exam stationery on desks prior to exams commencing
- Assist with student entry/seating
- Assist with the distribution of exam question to students
- To escort students for comfort breaks
- Liaise with Exams Office staff to obtain student numbers/confirm student identity
- Collect completed exam scripts from students
- Observe students to ensure adherence to University exam regulations and to identify students needing the attention of an exam invigilator
- Act in a calm and professional manner in dealings with contacts
- To be available either from 9.30am to 1.00pm or 1.45pm to 5.00pm
Skills/Qualifications Required:
- Provide excellent customer service
- Have a flexible attitude to work and possess good communication skills
- Be able to work as part of a team and independently
