We are recruiting for an Associate to join our Banking team in London, due to significant growth of our London Banking and Finance practice.
The Banking team provide expert and commercial advice in all areas of general corporate lending (including acquisition finance), real estate finance and renewables finance. We have the capacity to deal with all instructions, from the largest cross border syndicated transactions through to lower level strategically important bilateral lending.
Our London Banking team punches considerably above its weight in all aspects of its banking practice with transaction values generally between £20m and £500m.

Your Role
The role would involve supporting partners develop their practices in corporate lending, structured finance, acquisition finance and renewables/clean energy finance. In particular, you would be supporting two new Partners in the London office who have recently joined TLT from Squire Patton Boggs.
You will manage your own caseloads ensuring your experience is varied and broad. Through our national service lines you will work with notable clients and become a sector specialist. You will receive bespoke training throughout your career ensuring you have the technical and commercial skills to build an effective and successful practice.
Once you are in the role of you will deliver the following:
- Manage your own transactions for a variety of clients and support Partners with larger transactions.
- Participate in business development opportunities and help to strengthen relationships with our clients.
- Focus on financial implications and targets at a team and group level, monitor and manage expenditure and other costs/benefits against targets.
- Provide an excellent service to our clients by working closely with colleagues from across the UK in both the Banking team and other specialisms.
You will also be supported by highly regarded experts in restructuring and insolvency, property, employment, and licensing, all with significant experience and understanding of the way in which lending institutions operate.
Your Skills and Experience
You must be/have:
- A Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered), NQ-2PQE, with experience in banking and finance transactions.
- A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines
- Commercially aware with enthusiasm for business development, and an appetite for keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in your practice area and sector focus
- Able to understand your client’s business needs, and act in the best interest of the firm and the client
- An ambitious and enthusiastic team player, able to support senior fee earners and contribute to our collaborative culture.
Your Team
Operating from offices across the UK, our expanding and ambitious partner-led team provide tactical, commercially minded services across all aspects of financing. We act for a broad range of debt funders and have positions on the general lending panels of nearly all the high street lenders. In addition, we act for a wide spectrum of corporate borrowers in all of our key sectors in the investment and non investment grade spaces.
The focus of our banking team is acting lender side on transactions including acting for all of the UK clearing banks, the so-called challenger banks and investment funds. The team also advises many of the firm’s corporate and real estate clients who are undertaking transactions in the debt markets.
