About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to play a lead role in shaping how we wisely and effectively invest in our homes into the coming years to meet the needs of our residents and drive our aspirations in relation to high quality and environmentally sound refurbishment. This is a new role, which will be working as part of a large multi-disciplinary Assets, Property and Estate Management team, planning and delivering consistent high-quality services to our customers across Wales.

What will you be doing?

We have a strong and enviable record of performance in relation to the quality of our housing portfolio, with solid plans in place to ensure that our homes meet the needs of our residents throughout the years to come and a track record of effectively delivering works programmes to meet required standards and our residents needs.

Working to the Director of Assets & Maintenance you will lead teams of technical staff responsible for planning and delivering refurbishment and maintenance programmes to our homes across Wales.

Supported by your Asset Investment Team you will ensure that detailed investment plans and accurate forecasts are in place based on solid principles, proven methodologies, and detailed accurate knowledge of stock type and condition. Using your strong data and analysis skills and technical knowledge you lead on the development of our plans and prioritised programmes to achieve what matters to customers, to decarbonise our homes across Wales and to create a suite of well understood plans and forecasts for the use of colleagues.

Working closely with the Group Procurement Manager and supported by your Programme Delivery Team, you will ensure the effective procurement and on-site delivery of programmes of refurbishment work of all types across Wales, taking a customer centred view to ensure a good customer experience.

As part of the Senior Management Group you will work in close liaison with colleagues delivering reactive maintenance and regionally based housing, property and estate management services, including stock condition surveying and the diagnosis of building defects and solutions.

Who are we looking for?

To succeed in this role you will have a genuine passion and desire to deliver the best possible services. You will naturally possess strong data analysis, programming and contract management skills, alongside leadership skills that bring the best out in people, as you will recognise that success depends on the teams you manage.

Who are Wales & West Housing (WWH)?

We are one of the leading housing providers in Wales; providing affordable homes and services to more than 20,000 residents in over 12,000 properties across Wales. We formed a group company in 2011, to include Cambria Maintenance Ltd. We employ almost 450 staff at WWH and over 170 staff in Cambria, making us a major Welsh employer. As an organisation we adopt a systems thinking approach to the way we manage and deliver our services across the Group; it underpins the way in which we operate.

We are ranked as 3* World Class in the 2022 Best Companies list and are also very proud to be the first organisation in Wales to be awarded Platinum status in the Investors in People (IiP) Standard.

We are embracing a new hybrid way of working that enables us to deliver a great service and supports a strong and connected organisational culture. Staff will spend a minimum of two days a week (or an appropriate pro rata for part timers), in the office. The remainder of the week will be determined by the needs of the role and/or the nature of the work; so you may be on site, at one of our regional bases, or working from home if suitable.
