Investment Analyst
Nutmeg is looking for a numerically educated smart and curious junior analyst with a genuine interest in financial markets, strong analytical capabilities, and capacity to automatise and improve some repetitive tasks or data intensive processes.
You will play an important role on the investment desk, operating and helping to develop and safeguard Nutmeg's proprietary risk and quantitative investment tools.
You will be involved in the evolution of Nutmeg's quantitative risk measurement and asset allocation framework.
You will work in close collaboration with senior investment professional in broad projects ranging from task automatisation, data management and reporting, market research and financial markets modelling.
The role is for a junior person with 0-2 years experience ready to be involved in tasks of varied complexity. You will work with a strong team of investment professionals in a fast growing environment. The role will give the ability to evolve as part of an investment team managing >£5bn of long only money.
What you'll need to do:
Be a self-starter, eager to engage with all aspects of Nutmeg's investment process.
Close collaboration with the senior investment and portfolio analytics team to implement projects and automatise existing tasks in Excel, Matlab and/or Python. Ready to be involved in reporting task, be ready to do some repetitive tasks when needed and able to propose innovative solution to improve existing processes and framework.
Develop ultimately into an investment professional, building knowledge and experience in global multi-asset investing.

Recent graduate with 0 to 2y experience. Prior experience in asset management industry will be seen favourably but not mandatory.
Numerical background from a leading University. Msc in finance seen favourably but bachelor in a scientific topic with strong mark could be equally a great fit.
Professional or Academic Experience in writing and handling coded solutions (Matlab or Python). This aspect will be tested on-site. Advanced knowledge of Excel.
A keen interest in financial markets would be a plus as the role involves being fully integrated in a first line investment team.
Willingness to undertake industry exams (FRM, CFA or similar)
Ability to undertake guided research projects.
