About The Role

Within this role you’ll operate Financial Crime fraud systems and reports associated with account activity, payments, online activity and changes to personal data and determine appropriate action based upon results of the investigation.

You’ll perform investigations relating to disputed withdrawals, vulnerable customers, APP fraud, Account takeover and Fraudulent credits, accurately document findings of fraud investigations using the case management system.

You’ll act upon referrals from Financial Crime Support Officers and other areas of the business via telephone and email and respond to information supplied by, or requests received from the Police or other external bodies appropriately.

You’ll represent Financial Crime at internal/external meetings when requested, participating actively and ensuring that intelligence obtained at meetings is appropriately shared with the team. You’ll develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You’ll also maintain an up-to-date knowledge of emerging fraud threats and keep abreast of industry publications and news articles. Provide suggestions for improvement to the Society’s fraud defences as appropriate.


About You

To be successful you’ll already have a strong customer focused experience as well as appreciation and understanding of Financial Crime. You’ll have sound decision making, inter-personal skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight timescales.

You’ll have a flexible working attitude and be able to work using your own initiative.

Essential Skills:

  • Evidence of working with and understanding of a risk and / or fraud area environment is critical.
  • Sound understanding of savings processes and have proven analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong appreciation of customer care, good inter-personal skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Able to evidence excellent communication, decision making and time management skills, as well as being very organised, methodical, and thorough in your attention to detail.
  • Have experience of working in a customer service environment and can analyse conflicting information.

Desirable Skills:

  • Financial Services Experience
  • Software experience of using Summit, Open2, Verint, Sales System, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Hours: Shifted role, 35 hours per week.

  • Mon-Fri between the hours of 8-7:30pm
  • Saturday 9-5
  • Sunday 10-4
