Job description
Public Protection Partnership (PPP) is a shared Environmental Heath, Licensing and Trading Standards Service for Bracknell Forest and West Berkshire in Berkshire. We also work with Wokingham Borough Council to deliver a Shared Trading Standards Service along with a number of other services including a shared case management unit and financial investigation and intelligence functions.
We are now looking for a specialist Investigator to join our specialist Investigations Team. Ideally you will have some understanding of public protection / trading standards legislation and practice but above all you will need significant experience in the field of complex Level 1, 2 and 3 criminal investigations including fraud, money laundering etc.
You will need to be qualified in a relevant enforcement area and be able to demonstrate your ability to conduct large and complex investigations. This will include the need to demonstrate your in-depth knowledge of PACE, CPIA, RIPA, DPA and the implications of the Human Rights Act as well as your ability to produce investigation case files and give evidence in Magistrates and Crown Court settings. Your knowledge and skills will need to be transferable to any public protection related investigation.
In performing your role you will be supported, as required, by our intelligence function, financial investigation team and case management unit.

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake his/her duties as they will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year. Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis as well as a free car parking space if he/she works at one of the Council’s corporate buildings.
