Agricultural Farm Worker
Land Based Industries
Permanent vacancy - 37 hours per week
£21,382 per annum

Our new Agricultural Farm Worker will be instrumental in the daily operation of the College farm. Much smaller than a standard commercial farm, Wigfield covers 55 acres of land and houses less than 80 animals including cattle and poultry. Driving tractors and operating agricultural machinery is a key part of this role, so experience in this area is desirable.

We are looking for someone who appreciates the Farm’s primary function as a curriculum resource for our students but recognises the nature of the environment, upholding high regard for essential health and safety measures, as well as the upmost respect for animal welfare. This role will offer the opportunity to work in practical agriculture but also provides a cohesive link between the farm, visitor offering and the teaching team. This ensures a high-quality experience appropriate to our students, staff, animals and visitors to best current industry practice.

This is a busy post and the successful Farm Worker will fulfil a role in delivering the high standards of customer service expected by the customers of Wigfield Farm. Please note this work will be a mixture of weekday, weekends and holiday working.

Please note you will be directed to the Barnsley College website to complete your application. Closing date for Applications Wednesday 9th August 2023 - We reserve the right to close this vacancy early depending on the level of interest.
