Preventing and thoroughly investigating crime, supporting victims and bringing offenders to justice. This can’t be achieved by any one person alone; it relies upon a team of over 8,000 officers, police staff and volunteers, working in partnership with other agencies and the public. The role

  • Undertake evidence collection to support a mixed team of Police Officers and staff.
  • Record witness accounts in the form of a statement
  • View CCTV or other media to identify investigative opportunities
  • House to house enquiries and exhibit handling as directed by supervisor
  • Necessity to attend court to provide evidence (as and when required).
  • Some general administrative activities.

The essentials

  • English GCSE (grade 9-1, A-C or Key Skills Level 2 or equivalent)
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact confidently with both staff and members of the public
  • Proven ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloads
  • Flexible approach to working as some evening and weekend work might be required on occasion.
  • Must have capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered Essential.

The hours are Monday to Friday office hours.

Vetting. All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
