Job description
We are seeking to recruit experienced investigators to our award winning team. The Oxford Investigation Service has set the UK standard for Local Authority Counter Fraud Teams. The team is nationally recognised for excellence in a multitude of disciplines including continuous improvement, innovation, and tackling high value fraud. The team has been successful in preventing fraud losses of over £20m for Oxford City Council in the last three years, and now shares this expertise with partner organisations.
The successful candidates will have experience of working in a counter fraud environment, conducting PACE compliant interviews under caution and will be able to work on their own initiative in an exciting, fast paced environment. As well as safeguarding the services of Oxford City Council against fraudsters, the team commercialised its services in 2015, operates in a business-like fashion and provides counter-fraud services externally. As such, business development will feature as key responsibility in this role. As the team continues to innovate, evolve and expand, team members are asked to work in different regions on a regular basis, providing opportunities well outside the norm for this type of role. A flexible approach to work in order to undertake additional tasks as and when required, which may occasionally involve working irregular hours at various locations is therefore essential.
More information is available on the role profile document. Please read this document to ensure that you meet our requirements. More information about working for the Council, our values and vision, is available on our web site.
