Location: Roway Lane, Oldbury, B69 3ES
Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday
Main duties & responsibilities
The main purpose of the Inventory Technician is to assist in cataloguing and maintaining our internal bill of materials system (SmartTime).
The successful candidate will be supporting our National Accounts team, and the role offers the opportunity to work with some of our major customers across the UK. This position is ideal for those looking for a career change and the potential for development.
We are looking for applicants who are driven to learn new skills, looking to develop a new career and are willing to travel and work on site sometimes for extended periods of time.
Key responsibilities may include:
Identifying stock held at customer sites and cataloguing on spreadsheet.
Uploading catalogued data to our inventory management system.
Cross-referencing items to Hayley Group’s own catalogue of stock.
Creating barcodes and logging the locations of customer stock on the system.
Liaising with and providing guidance to customers on site.
Providing training on the inventory management system to customers and colleagues.
Knowledge & Skills requirements
The ideal candidate will have following key skills:
Clean driving licence is necessary.
Willing to work away from home.
Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of our products and processes.
Proficient in basic computer applications including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
Good communication skills – must be able to communicate with individuals across all levels of the business.
Previous experience in stock control/management would be beneficial.
Experience of working within a stores environment or from an engineering background would be preferable.
