Purchase Ledger Supervisor & Administrator – PART TIME - Based in Croydon, South London (2 Days / 16 Hours per week required)

We are looking for someone with good experience of all elements of *** Purchase Ledger *** to join us as a KEY member of our accounts team at our offices in Croydon. We import and sell Panel & Sheet Material Products (MDF, Plywood & Decorative Sheet Materials)

PLEASE ONLY APPLY FOR THIS VACANCY IF YOU HAVE AT LEAST5 YEARS EXPERIENCE WORKING IN PURCHASE LEDGER ACCOUNTS. A Comprehensive knowledge of Purchase Ledger Accounts is required – In particular experience of any Pegasus Opera Accounting Software (we currently use Pegasus Opera 3)

Working in our Accounts Department, you will join colleagues here also working Part Time. We like to segregate accounts functions and roles to encourage colleagues to work together, as well as to facilitate shared knowledge to allow for cover in periods of leave. Our family business is now in its third generation and dates back to 1928. You are working for a company that utilises all its experience and knowledge to give us the edge over all our competitors in this specialist part of the building materials supply sector. Daily functions are not entirely dissimilar to that of a Timber Merchant. We operate out of our own Modern Premises in Beddington Lane in Croydon / Wallington Borders (we are next door to the Asda Supermarket). Key Duties include:

· Purchase Invoice Entry, Matching & Posting

· Nominal Journal Postings

· Supplier Statement Reconciliation

· Bank Reconciliation

· Quarterly VAT Returns (using our software via MTD)

· Supplier Queries

· Preparing Monthly BACS pay run

· Month and Year end Procedures

· Working with Auditors

As for training, we can help with on the job training as part of a transition period as this role is replacing an experienced colleague who is planning to retire. However previous experience of working in Purchase Ledger is essential, furthermore any applicant with experience of Pegasus Opera will be preferred. You would be working closely with our Managing Director who closely oversees all Functions at the business. We are known for our efficiency & customer service and this certainly extends to our Accounts Team. Being organised and managing your work duties is essential. Excellent Computer literacy is a must and you must be well versed in all the main Microsoft Programs too, and are expected to learn in house Software as well as being able to grasp all our internal processes and procedures quickly.
