This is an exciting time for an ambitious and experienced Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Specialist to join the Infection Prevention and Control Team at North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
As the IPC Manager you will bring significant experience of working as an IPC Clinical Specialist, in a complex healthcare organisation and extensive and expert knowledge of infection prevention and control experience of related strategies and developments.
You will be responsible for the provision of specialist clinical operational leadership to the infection control service, with the aim of maintaining and developing the quality of organisation-wide clinical infection prevention and control.
You will be able to demonstrate the implementation of infection prevention and control innovative practice, participating in research and development programmes and have a proven track record of developing and maintain infection prevention and control policies and guidelines to improve staff practice and safe patient care.
You will act as a source of specialist knowledge in all matters related to infection prevention and control, to reduce the incidence of infection across the organisation.
You will achieve this through risk assessment, surveillance, audit, intervention, education and development of protocols, policies, and guidance to ensure provision of a safe environment for staff, volunteers, patients, family members and visitors.
