What you’ll be doing

We are looking for an experienced Inventory Manager to manage our physical inventory. The ideal candidate will be data-driven, commercial, and comfortable working with stakeholders across the business as well as externally.

They will have a strong attention to detail and ability to identify trends through large sets of data. This role will see you working as part of a Group Inventory team with specific responsibilities for Headline and Quercus.

You will be responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of stock for all physical titles, using sales data and liaising with Sales Directors to ensure correct availability, margin and turn for all titles. Publishing experience or an interest in books is advantageous but we welcome applications from any and all Inventory Managers with a passion for driving sales, no matter the industry experience.

Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of managing the physical inventory, ideally for a trade publisher or similar
  • Excellent numeracy skills in particular the ability to produce and analyse sales data to inform print decisions
  • Knowledge of Biblio – or similar Publishing bibliographic system
  • Knowledge of Extent, Cognos or similar Publishing reporting system
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to work as a team player.
  • Experience of working in a busy environment, managing priorities effectively and delivering projects to a high standard and to deadline
