Role: Purchase Ledger Clerk
Salary: £24,000 /yr plus

About the role
We're on the lookout for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our friendly, fun, and hardworking Finance Department at Elite.
As a key member of the Purchase Ledger Team, your main responsibilities will include building excellent relationships with suppliers and the internal business ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger processes.
From receiving an invoice through to making payment, our aim is to ensure all invoices are checked accurately, thoroughly and in a timely manner to avoid disruption to our customers.
A day in the life of a Purchase Ledger Clerk at Elite looks a little like this:
- Ensuring that invoices are reconciled, checked to PO’s, and agreed buy prices on a monthly basis.
- Ensuring any supplier reconciliations are completed to support the billing team.
- Ensuring all expected credit notes are received and processed.
- Responsible for supplier escalations with Procurement.
- Responsible for dealer, recharge invoices and self-bills.
- Ensuring bank transactions are posted daily to assist with cash forecasts.
- Ensuring invoices received are posted daily.
- Take responsibility for checking and obtaining VAT receipts for all transactions on the monthly credit card statements.
- Investigating any debit balances or aged balances on the ledger.
Role requirements
Essential:
- Experience within a fast-paced and high volume, purchase ledger department.
- Computer literate, able to use e-mail systems as well as Word and Excel applications to an intermediate level (V-Lookups and Pivot Tables).
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
Desirable:
- Qualified to at least AAT Level 3.
- Experience within a Telecoms business.
- Experience using Sage 200 and a SN system.
- Knowledge of billing packages.
- Advanced Excel skills.
